Samsung DC93-00154A Electric Dryer Heating Element Assembly
A dryer that tumbles but never gets warm is one of the most common Samsung dryer complaints, and the fix is usually the heating element. The Samsung DC93-00154A is the original-equipment 3-wire heating element assembly used in many Samsung electric dryers. It arrives fully assembled, so you can swap the entire heater as one piece instead of rebuilding the old one.
Everything in One Assembly
| Component | Job |
|---|---|
| Heating coil (dual coil, 3-wire) | Generates the heat that dries your clothes |
| Metal heater housing | Channels air across the coil into the drum |
| High-limit thermostat | Cuts the heat if temperatures climb too high |
| Thermal fuse | A one-time safety fuse that shuts off power during overheating |
Replacing the full assembly means you're not reusing an old thermostat or fuse that may have been stressed by the same problem that burned out the coil.
Count the Wires First
Samsung uses both 3-wire and 2-wire heaters. DC93-00154A has three wires connected to the coil. Before ordering, look at your old heater and count the wires at the coil terminals. If there are only two, this part isn't the right match.
No Heat? Start Here
| What You Notice | What to Check |
|---|---|
| Drum turns, no heat at all | Heating coil or thermal fuse |
| Some heat, but clothes stay damp | Clogged vent or weak blower |
| Heat worked, then stopped suddenly | Blown thermal fuse, often caused by poor airflow |
| No heat, and the dryer is on a 240V outlet | A tripped breaker on one leg of the circuit |
| Heating error code on the display | Heater circuit or thermistor |
Test the coil with a multimeter. With the dryer unplugged, you should read continuity across the coil terminals. No continuity confirms a broken coil. More help is in our appliance troubleshooting and repair help.
Fix the Cause, Not Just the Heater
Heating elements rarely fail without a reason. The most common one is restricted airflow, which lets heat build up around the coil until it breaks or the fuse blows. Before installing your new heater:
- Clean the full exhaust vent from the dryer to the outside.
- Make sure the vent hose behind the dryer isn't kinked or crushed.
- Vacuum lint from the heater area and the blower housing.
- If airflow is still weak, check the motor and blower. See the DC93-00101U and DC93-00101N Samsung motor and blower assemblies, and match the number on your old motor.

Replacing the DC93-00154A
- Unplug the dryer from the wall.
- Open the cabinet to reach the heater housing. On many models that means removing the back panel, and on others the front panel and drum.
- Photograph every wire on the heater, thermostat and fuse.
- Disconnect the wires and remove the heater mounting screws.
- Slide the old assembly out and the new one into the same position.
- Reconnect each wire to match your photo and secure the screws.
- Close up the dryer, plug it in, and run a timed dry cycle to confirm heat.
Tools: a Phillips screwdriver, a 10mm socket or nut driver, needle-nose pliers, a multimeter and your phone camera. Most repairs take under 1-1/2 hours.
Keep the New Heater Working
- Clean the lint screen every load.
- Clean the vent line at least once a year.
- Don't ignore a "Check Filter" or vent-blocked alert.
- Watch for longer drying times. They're an early sign of an airflow problem.

DC93-00154A FAQs
My Samsung dryer tumbles but blows cold air. Is it the heating element?
Very often, yes. A broken coil or a blown thermal fuse is the most common cause. Test the coil for continuity, and check that both legs of the 240V breaker are on.
Can I replace just the thermal fuse instead?
You can, but a blown fuse usually signals overheating, and the coil and thermostat may be stressed too. The full DC93-00154A assembly replaces all three at once.
What if my heater has only two wires?
Then you need Samsung's 2-wire heating element instead. DC93-00154A is built only for heaters with three wires at the coil.
Will this work in a gas dryer?
No. Gas dryers use a burner and igniter. DC93-00154A is for electric dryers only.
How do I stop the new heater from burning out?
Keep air flowing. Clean the lint screen every load, clean the vent yearly, and make sure the vent hose isn't crushed. A weak blower or motor should be repaired too.
What part numbers does DC93-00154A supersede?
It supersedes AP5582094, 3282568, PS4216214.
