At 14-1/8 inches across, it's a larger plate, so measure your old one before ordering. It supersedes W10818723 and several older Whirlpool tray numbers.
Measure First, Then Order
Microwave plates look nearly identical, but size and the shape of the underside matter.
- Diameter: measure straight across the center of your old plate. W11790998 is 14-1/8 inches. If yours measures about 12 to 12-1/2 inches, you need a smaller plate.
- Underside: the raised ridges on the bottom must lock onto your microwave's center coupler.

Swapping In the New Plate
- Turn off the microwave and let it cool completely.
- Wearing gloves, pick up any large pieces of broken glass, then vacuum the cavity floor for small fragments.
- Wipe the floor clean and check that the roller ring's wheels roll freely.
- Place the roller ring back in its track.
- Set the W11790998 plate on top so the ridges underneath lock onto the center coupler.
- Heat a cup of water for 30 seconds and watch the plate turn smoothly.

- Thermal shock: rinsing a hot plate with cold water, or setting a frozen dish on a hot plate
