Dryer Thermal Fuse and Thermostat Kit
Designed to fit various Whirlpool brands—such as Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral—this kit also suits certain Sears-Kenmore and Ikea models. It serves as an OEM replacement specifically tailored for Whirlpool dryers. Included in the package are a high-limit thermostat (WP53-0771) and two thermal fuses (WP53-1096 & WP53-1182) to promote safe dryer operation.
The high-limit thermostat acts as a safeguard by interrupting power to the heating element if overheating occurs. The thermal fuses perform a similar function, cutting off power once temperatures exceed safe levels. Both types of fuses are single-use and must be replaced rather than reset.
Problems like overheating or unexpected shutdowns may indicate issues with the high-limit thermostat or a blown thermal fuse. Using this kit to replace faulty components can effectively resolve these issues, enhancing dryer reliability and safety.
This kit is valuable for addressing conditions such as excessive heat or premature dryer shutdowns.
