Temperature Control Thermostat Assembly for Range/Stove/Oven
This assembly is responsible for regulating the temperature inside an oven. When an oven either overheats or does not reach the specified temperature, the thermostat may require replacement. Its dimensions are 12.2 inches in length, 3.5 inches in width, and 2.3 inches in height.
This original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part is used in GE appliances, including Hotpoint, General Electric, and Sears-Kenmore models, to precisely control oven temperature. Positioned within the control panel, this component is integral to the appliance's heating mechanism. It functions by monitoring the set temperature and adjusting the operation of the heating elements accordingly. Upon selecting the desired temperature via the control panel, the thermostat interprets the settings and regulates the heating elements' activity to maintain consistency.
Additionally, this GE thermostat is suitable for use with Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.
This part resolves the following concerns:
- Variability in oven temperatures
- Failure to achieve the selected temperature, causing prolonged cooking times
- Overheating that results in food being burnt or overcooked
- Inability of the oven to initiate heating when the temperature is set
