Refrigerator Temperature Control Thermostat
This component plays a crucial role in maintaining the temperature within the fresh food compartment of your refrigerator. It is particularly beneficial when the interior becomes excessively cold. This original equipment manufacturer (OEM) thermostat is utilized by brands such as Frigidaire, Electrolux, and those manufactured for Sears-Kenmore. Its purpose is to modulate and fine-tune the temperature settings of the refrigerator. If your appliance fails to hold the preferred temperature, is inefficient in cooling, or exhibits any operational issues, the thermostat might require replacement.
To perform a thermostat replacement, begin by disconnecting the refrigerator from the power source. Proceed by opening the door and removing all interior shelving. Detach the screws and take out the interior panels to gain access to the thermostat. Upon locating it, carefully unscrew and disconnect the wire harness that secures the thermostat in place. Install the new thermostat and then reattach the interior panels.
The thermostat is available for purchase as a single unit and is compatible with refrigerators from Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Westinghouse.
