Additionally, Whirlpool produces compatible units for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. The WP9740171 detergent compartment includes a concealed space for holding dishwasher detergent. It comes with a double door feature and is compatible with model KD18 and subsequent versions, though it does not fit the KD17 series.
Prior to installation, ensure the dishwasher is disconnected from power by either unplugging it or switching off the corresponding circuit breaker. To protect your hands during installation, wear protective gloves.
