Gas Oven Safety Valve for Oven/Microwave Combo Units
This component serves as a safety valve for gas ovens and is compatible with models from GE, Hotpoint, and Sears-Kenmore. As an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part, its primary role is to prevent gas flow to the burner assembly when the igniter lacks sufficient heat or electrical power. Over time, the safety valve may deteriorate due to regular use. Indicators of a malfunctioning valve include inadequate heating, failure of the oven to activate, or decreased operational efficiency.
To replace the faulty valve, please adhere to the following instructions:
1. Disconnect the oven from the electrical outlet and shut off the gas supply.
2. Carefully pull the range away from the wall.
3. Use a wrench to detach the gas supply tube from the safety valve.
4. Open the oven door to access the internal components.
5. Release the hinge locks and remove the oven door.
6. Extract the oven racks and remove the screws securing the bottom panel.
7. Locate and identify the safety valve.
8. Unscrew the mounting bracket to release the old valve.
9. Install the new valve, ensuring it aligns with the bracket.
10. Securely connect the wires to the valve terminals.
11. Reinstall the bottom panel and reattach the oven door.
This safety valve is sold individually and sourced directly from the manufacturer, ensuring compatibility with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA-branded ovens.
