GE provides products through its Hotpoint, General Electric, and Sears-Kenmore lines. Among these offerings is an authentic OEM component—the main control board for refrigerators. This board serves as the central processing unit, overseeing essential functions like temperature control. Should your refrigerator fail to cool effectively or sustain the desired temperature, replacing the control board might be necessary.
To carry out the replacement, begin by disconnecting the refrigerator from the power supply. Next, open the freezer door and remove the screws securing the side panel to gain access to the existing control board. Detach the wire harness and any individual wires connected to it. Once the mounting screws are removed, take out the old control board. Proceed to install the new board by reconnecting the wires to the correct terminals and reattaching the side panel.
This genuine replacement part is sold separately and is compatible with refrigerators from General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA.
