The primary control board is an essential component for range vent hoods, managing essential operations like power cycling and setting adjustments. It is vital for models under the GE umbrella, which includes Hotpoint, General Electric, and RCA, as well as select Sears-Kenmore products. When a range hood fails to power up, replacing the main control board is a practical remedy and is relatively uncomplicated.
Begin by disconnecting the power supply to the range hood. Next, remove the upper metal cover above the range hood to gain access to the existing control board. Take a photo of the wiring setup for reference. Carefully detach the wire harness and any other connected wires from the old board. Attach these wires to the new board's corresponding terminals, ensuring all connections are secure. Once the new board is in place, reattach the upper panel and restore the power to the unit.
This authentic OEM control board is sold individually and is compatible with appliances from GE, Hotpoint, and RCA.
