LG MDS47123602 Front Load Washer Door Boot Gasket
If you own one of LG's popular front-load washers, there's a good chance this is the gasket around your door. The LG MDS47123602 is the original-equipment door boot gasket for a long line of LG models, from the WM2601 and WM3050 to the WM3370 and WM3670 series, as well as LG-built Kenmore Elite washers. It supersedes MDS47123601, MDS47123612, MDS64237201 and MDS64237202.
Why Door Gaskets Give Out
The gasket connects the spinning wash tub to the fixed front of the washer, so it stretches and flexes on every load. It stays damp between washes, traps lint and detergent in its folds, and gets nicked by zippers, coins and hooks. Eventually the rubber hardens, tears or develops mold that cleaning can't reach, and the leaks and odors begin.
Symptom Check
| What You Notice | What It Usually Means |
|---|---|
| Puddle below the door after a cycle | A tear or hole in the gasket, usually in the bottom fold |
| Musty smell that returns after cleaning | Mold growing inside the rubber folds |
| Black spots that won't scrub off | Mold stained below the surface |
| Gasket pulling away from the door opening | Stretched rubber or a weak clamp |
| Leak only on heavy-suds loads | Too much detergent, not the gasket |
Quick Checks First
- Pull back every fold and look closely, especially at the bottom.
- Switch to HE detergent and measure the dose carefully.
- Check the hinge: a sagging door can't press evenly against the seal.
- Look beneath the washer: the drain filter and hoses can also leak near the front.

MDS47123602 FAQs
Will MDS47123602 fit my LG WM3370HWA?
Yes. It fits the WM3370HWA, WM3370HVA and WM3370HRA, along with many other LG front-load models listed above.
The number on my old gasket is MDS47123601. Is that a problem?
No. MDS47123601 is the earlier version of this part, and the new gasket may carry the same stamp. MDS47123602 is the correct replacement.
Does this gasket fit Kenmore Elite washers?
Yes. It fits LG-built Kenmore Elite 796-series front-load washers, including the 796.41262, 796.41382 and 796.41383 series.
Do I need new clamps?
Usually not. The gasket comes without clamps, and your existing ones can be reused if they aren't bent or rusted.
How long does the replacement take?
Most people finish in 1 to 2 hours. Removing the top and front panels makes the inner clamp much easier to reach.
What part numbers does MDS47123602 supersede?
