This surface burner valve is suitable for a range of GE brand appliances, including Cafe, General Electric, Monogram, Haier, Hotpoint, Profile, Fisher & Paykel, and Sears-Kenmore models. Its primary function is to control the gas supply to burners on GE cooktops. Although designed for natural gas, it can be adjusted to fit propane use. Crafted from sturdy brass, the valve includes dual ports for gas line attachment and two terminals to connect with the oven's control system. It operates at a voltage of 24 volts and withstands a maximum gas inlet pressure of 0.5 psi.
When installing, follow all safety protocols and verify the absence of gas leaks after installation. Start by taking off the burner grates and caps. Subsequently, detach the spark wires from the surface igniters and release the retaining clips on the main top. Required tools typically include a Phillips screwdriver and a quarter-inch wrench. Ensure the appliance is disconnected from its power supply before commencing any installation work.
