Whirlpool is renowned for producing a wide range of dishwasher brands, such as Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral, in addition to manufacturing for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. This authentic replacement component is a control board specifically engineered for Whirlpool dishwashers. It functions as the primary circuit board, overseeing the essential operations of the appliance. Should your dishwasher encounter issues with powering on or draining properly, a control board replacement may be necessary.
The process of replacing a control board is simple. Begin by detaching the dishwasher's outer door panel by unfastening the mounting screws. Once the control panel is lifted, disconnect the wire touchpad harness from the existing control board. A flathead screwdriver can be used to release the locking tab, enabling you to slide the control board housing to the left to remove it. Carefully remove the wire covers, note the position of the wire connectors, and detach them from the old board.
To install the new control board, first reconnect the wire connectors to their designated terminals. Position the wire covers correctly and secure them. Insert the tabs of the control board housing into the slots of the mounting bracket, sliding the housing to the right to lock it securely. Reattach the control panel by connecting the control pad wire harness to the newly installed board. Align the panel properly and fasten it using the mounting screws.
This control board is suitable for use with several Whirlpool dishwasher brands, including Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and those made for Sears and Kenmore.
