Refrigerator Defrost Sensor Assembly
This assembly is designed to work seamlessly with LG and Sears-Kenmore appliances. Its primary role is to measure the temperature of the evaporator during a defrost cycle. By detecting when the frost has liquefied, it subsequently deactivates the defrost heater. This mechanism only initiates if the temperature falls below a predetermined level.
Over time, this sensor assembly can experience malfunctions due to regular deterioration, electrical faults, or exposure to moisture and fluctuating temperatures. If it becomes defective, it may interrupt the defrost cycle, causing excessive frost accumulation, diminished cooling performance, or an inability to perform the defrost function properly.
Indicators of a malfunctioning defrost sensor assembly include:
- Excessive frost accumulation on evaporator coils
- Inaccurate temperature regulation in the refrigerator or freezer
- Increased energy usage
- Ineffective defrosting
As an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) part by LG, it is also compatible for use in Sears/Kenmore products.
This component is ideal for resolving issues such as:
- Accumulation of frost
- Continuous appliance operation
- Insufficient refrigeration temperatures
